SPONGE COLA’s “SIGURO NGA”

A song born out a vocalist and guitarist Yael Yuzon’s love for “Han Ji-Pyeong,” a prominent character from K-drama series, Start-Up, whose unconventional upbringing misfortunes in life enabled him to become a principled, self-made man with tough exterior and unbeknownst to everyone– a tender heart.

Spongecola is a Filipino rock band formed in 20O2. They are among the most popular rock bands in the Philippines. The band produced hit songs including KLSP, Di Na Mababawi, and Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay.

SB19’s “WHAT?”

It stands for Watawat (Flag), a song about being proud of one’s roots.WHAT? is the song that brought SB19 as a nominee at the Billboard Music Awards for Top Social Artist alongside BTS, BLACKPINK, Ariana Grande, and SEVENTEEN.

The boy band SB19 is a five-member group consisting of Pablo, Felip or Ken, Stell, Josh, and Justin. The Filipino boy band debuted in 2018. The band produced songs including MAPA, Go Up, Bazinga, and Tilaluha.

FLICT G’s “AKING LAHI”

It is an anthem for Filipinos by a Filipino of being proud to be Filipino. Aking Lahi is a collection of different languages and dialects that verbalized the rallying cry of Filipinos that needs to be heard in these turbulent times.

Flict G is a Filipino battle rapper. The musical artist produced songs including Aking Hiling and Paglisan.

HILERA’s “BROKEN”

Is a song about being in a state of brokenness. This track speaks of vulnerabilities in an ill-fated relationship.

Hilera is a Filipino rock band formed in 2004 and consists of 3 members Chris Padilla, Bobby Padilla, and Ronnie Pamittan. The band produced albums including NutHouse, Kid in A Coma, and Hilera.

HENYONG MAKATA’s “DI NA PWEDE”

“Loving your own solitude”

The song “Di Na Pwede” is all about self-worth and being free from a toxic relationship.

Henyong Makata is a Filipino hip-hop group. The band produced tracks including Naakit, Tulad Mo, and Ikaw.

BARBIE ALMALBIS’ “DAYS ARE LONG”

A song that talks about finding ways to cope through the different seasons of life.

Barbie Almalbis is a Filipino singer-songwriter. She debuted in 2006 and released her self-titled album Barbie: The Singles.
